Roof Sheeting

The shading co-efficient is a ratio of the warming effect of the suns rays through sheet divided by the suns warming effect through 3mm float glass. The lower the figure, the cooler is it under the sheet.

Gable Roofing:

A type of roof containing sloping planes of the same pitch, on each side of the ridge. Contains a gable at each end. Gable: The part of the wall above the general of the eaves at the end of a ridged roof or of a partially hipped roof, which encloses the end of a pitched roof.

Hipped Roofing:

A pitched roof with hipped ends. Hip: The inclined external angle formed by the intersection of two slopping roof planes. Runs from the ridge to the eaves.

Flat:

The flat truss is used in roofs or floors. It may be designed as top or bottom chord bearing, or for simple or multiple spans. It may also be cantilevered at one or both ends. They may be ordered with a built shallow slope to offset deflection and to provide positive drainage when used as a flat roof system.

Pitched Roof:

A roof, the slop of which is generally higher than 10 degrees to the horizontal

Dome:

A roof that is shaped like a half-circle, or a variation of one

Gambrel Roof:

A type of roof containing two sloping planes of different pitch, on each side of the ridge. The lower plane has steeper slope than the upper. Contains a gable at each end.

Mansard Roof:

A steeper roof that terminates into a flat roof at it's high point.

Shed Roof:

A roof having only one slopping plane.
